Is there a way to save the index that is created during a search so that reindexing won’t be required when i close and start the program again?

yes there is a such feature in the location settings. It is called “Disable Indexing” and it is located in the “More properties” of the location settings → [Locations Overview | TagSpaces Docs](https://docs.tagspaces.org/ui/locations/#local-locations)
