Would it be possible for the thumbnail to use the default icon from the file/folder?
Files already have icons and this would improve the visibility for folders with a lot of different file types, instead (or as a option to activate) of the just showing the mostly same colored extension info in the front (especially in the List Perspective)
Also there should be the option to show the full file name including the file extensions.
