SMB/Local Network Access Android

I have several network shares hosted across a few local servers and have been using tagspaces on my PC to manage the files on my photo archive, amongst other things. My desktop instance has been handling this just fine, mapping to \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx\PhotoShare. I recently decided to start using the Android app specifically to have access to my photo library with tags on the go. Before doing all of the firewall and routing configurations to make it accessible externally, I decided to access it locally, and could not make it work. I tried the same as above, and any other combination of slashes, lack of slashes, and prefixes smb:, etc. I can access the drive fine from my phone via an SMB explorer. Am I doing something incorrect, or is this not supported? If it is not supported, is there another method that I could spin locally via a VM or container? I’d prefer something that works with the app as opposed to web-based.
