I love the product but I so surprised that this is not an option by now!
This feature request is for auto-tagging all files entered in to a folder using the folders existing tags.
Last year, I started using your KANBAN perspective for work and loved the fact that I can not only better manage my related files and folders but I can also track my progress of completion through (.MD) files like tickets. In KANBAN style I use open and close to describe status as well as TBD (To Be Done), WIP (Work In Progress), Hold, Wait, and Done as to indicate progress. However it is a manual task of updating those tags when moving between folders representing these different states of progress. Since the folders indicate the status, one could just tag the folder as I have and when the (.MD) file / ticket moves from folder to folder it picks up its tag! This would make the KANBAN feature a much more attractive to use.
Now this setting would also have to be accompanied by a strip all previous tags from files when entered in to a folder in order to not to have different versions of the same type of tag. Of course tags that are not tagged in the folder should be ignored and left alone in order not to lose them.
KANBAN Folders: | TBD | WIP | Wait | Hold | Done |
Tags in folders: | Open | Open | Open | Open | Closed |
| TBD | WIP | Wait | Hold | Done |
Tags applied | Open | Open | Open | Open | Closed |
to (MD) files | TBD | WIP | Wait | Hold | Done |
Other options could be mass tagging of the same type of files with the same tags by simply entering them in to a folder. Currently tagging is a very manual / time consuming process for those of us handling thousands of files with tags in the double digits! This manner could be used by constructing folders with those tags and moving files through them in an automated process.
