Hello, tags are a central feature to Tag Spaces so I suggest improvement to the editing of Tags:
open the side window that shows the description / info for the file.
Go to the Tags edit box.
I am requesting support for:
Backspace. It should delete the previous tag
Cursor should FOCUS on the edit box after a tag is entered, so the next tag can be entered without have to click in the box to get focus again… this is very important. As many people like to enter multiple tags. (note: I haven’t investigated when this happens, it could be just happening after I type a few letters of the tag, and choose it from the drop down list… it happens then for sure. I am not sure if I were to type the whole tag and press enter what would happen to the cursor, I have not investigated that)
I second this request.
Precious time is wasted having to click back into the Tag field after the addition of a tag.
Focus should remain on the tag field to allow any additional tags to be added.
Backspace delete of previous tag is a great idea too!
Edit:
I just realized that the tag field does support comma separation for adding tags. This is already great but I still think this request is valid.
Entering all tags in a single string with comma separation does not take into account spelling mistakes, and could create new erroneous tags.
Entering the Tags one by one would still be preferable as you can select from the auto completion suggestion, ensuring you select the correct tag. And by keeping focus on the tag field you never leave the keyboard while tagging.
Further Edit
So I discovered the Ctrl-T functionality soon after my last edit. ^^
The way that tagging dialog works is exactly how it should work in the Sidebar tagging field, so hopefully it wouldn’t be too hard to copy over that functionality.
