I would like to have some kind of export function, which allows me to export all the settings, etc. I’m still hesitant to use tag spaces because setting up a keyword search is extremely time-consuming. I would be very upset if I couldn’t secure it in some way.

You can export you locations, your tag-library and your searches as JSON files, which can be re-imported in another TagSpaces installation.
