The ability to have a tag imply another tag would be nice. For example the tag “square” would imply “rectangle”, so when something is tagged with “square” then it’s automatically tagged with “rectangle” as well.
Just saw the Feature request guide so gonna be improving this a bit, I didn’t see an edit button so a reply needs to work
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I collect STL files of miniatures to print them and I tag a lot, like I have not just the tag “weapon” but also “sharp”, “blunt” and “ranged” but it doesn’t stop there, I go down to individual weapon types like “axe”, “spear” and “sword”. So having to apply all these tags one by one gets really annoying and I worry that I might miss a tag and when I’m looking for something it wouldn’t show up.
Describe the solution you’d like
When editing/creating a tag there would be a field where you can add other tags that are implied by the current tag.
Possibly also a field that shows tags that imply the current tag.
When tag A implies tag B then adding tag A would also add tag B but adding B wouldn’t add A, this should also work recursively so if tag B implies tag C then adding A would add B and C both.
Describe alternatives you’ve considered
There really isn’t any alternatives to this, maybe on the search side so that you could set that when searching for one tag files tagged with some certain other tags also show up but that just seems clunkier.
Additional context
This feature request is inspired from a feature on e621.net (Note: contains NSFW images), a site known for it’s robust tagging system, so I’m kind of surprised that it isn’t already a feature.
