Many times , writing down a “long” note (256 or more chrs) for a specific file or folder is needed
eg “This picture 's been supported by my friend JOE on 12/23”
this cannot be considered as “tag” since it is unique for the file and long enough to not fit on the filename
and could be saved in the sidecar and shown by hovering mouse over the folder
and could be accompanied by different color choice

Hi, and sorry for my late response. This feature is already supported, if you add a description to a given folder, a preview of the description is shown on the folder tile in the grid perspective.
