Hello everyone,
Unfortunately, my TagSpaces desktop app has crashed several times recently, and after the latest incident, my TagSpaces instance has essentially been reset to factory settings. I got a welcome prompt, my tag library is gone, as are my linked locations. All settings also appear to have been reset.
My question: Is there any way I can easily restore my data and settings?
Luckily, I have an old backup of my tag library, but that way would involve a lot of manual work.
Is there any way I can perhaps clean up the program’s folders and files?
I can’t explain why the data is “gone.” The program crashed while assigning tags to some files.
I look forward to hearing your ideas. Thank you in advance.
Hi, the issue with the settings happens when the crashed instance blocks the TagSpaces profile where the settings are stored. To solve this you have to stop the crashed process from the task manager or restart your computer. The app should start normally after these steps.
I had already tried restarting the process and the computer, but unfortunately without success.
Could a new instance have overwritten the profile?
Or is it possible that the profile file cannot be read or cannot be found?
I use sidecar files and have only tagged about 10 files that time.
